01 / The Challenge
I joined as the UI/UX designer for "Will TAP," an app tailored for residents of Nomura Real Estate's "Proud" apartments in Japan. The app's goal was to offer a seamless interface for controlling smart home devices and receiving notifications from Nomura Real Estate.
The main challenge lay in designing an app that could handle a multitude of features while maintaining ease of use.
野村不動産の「プラウド」のマンション住人向けのアプリ「Will TAP」のUI/UXデザインを担当しました。このアプリは、プラウドのマンションの家電各種と連携させることで、外出時に家の中の電気や家電を操作することを可能とするもので、家電のシステムとの連携が不可欠でした。充実した多種多様の機能を、いかに分かりやすく使いやすくデザインするかという点が大きな課題でした。
02 / The Story
To achieve a user-friendly design, I focused on organizing and simplifying the app's diverse functionalities. Collaborating closely with appliance manufacturers was essential to ensure smooth integration of their devices with the app. Working alongside system administrators, I established a cohesive design direction and streamlined the app's features.
The app's effectiveness is evident: since its launch in 2019, about 80% of Proud apartment residents have adopted it, enjoying a notably positive user experience.
住宅の電気や風呂などの家電と連動させるアプリであるため、メーカー各社との調整を重ねました。自分だけで完結させられるデザインではなく、システムが絡んでくるため、難しさを感じましたが、メーカーやシステムの担当者の方々と綿密にコミュニケーションを取りながらデザインの方向性を決めていきました。とても便利な機能を多数搭載するアプリに仕上げなければならないという点は、大きなチャレンジとなりましたが、複雑にすることなく、あくまでも「使いやすく・分かりやすく」を第一としてユーザビリティを考えたデザインを心がけました。また、野村不動産からの告知などを受け取れるシステムもあり、こういった機能各種を整理整頓して、使いやすいアプリデザインを考案しました。
2019年にリリースしてから、今も約80％のプラウドマンションの住人の方が利用してくださっているアプリです。
